The Garden Tower Project, LLC - Formed in Bloomington, IN, April, 2012. Founder and Inventor, Colin Cudmore found impetus in an inspirational talk given by Will Allen concerning "food deserts" in North America. Colin decided to dedicate his creative endeavors toward creating a more sustainable future. Colin was inspired by nature and driven by two trusted partners, Joel Grant and Tom Tlusty, along with many organizations and activists working to protect the environment and change the way we feed ourselves.
The GT2, is a revolutionary gardening\worm composting system, growing over 50 plants in 4 Sq Ft, on any deck, porch balcony or yard! The design is elegant in its simplicity, yet offers incomparable productivity. Visually, a classic yet sophisticated look with clean, attractive lines. Magnificence of the GT2 is in the curvature and arch of the design, the height to width ratio being pleasing, captures attention with its finish and slight texture, all in a rich terracotta color. Undulating pockets alternate naturally to combine and interlace tones and contrasts of green and terracotta to grab attention of the visually astute. Garden Towers when planted in any community tend to grow & thrive along with that community, bringing fresh, organic produce and a shared sense of beauty, awe and wonder to those who are attentive. The real intricacy of design efficiency, lie in those areas that are not readily apparent even to the highly trained eye. These subtle innovations allow unparalleled productivity compared to any container garden system or traditional plot gardens. Concerns about safety and health of our fresh food supply were first and foremost considerations in design. The compost column, allows the GT2 to process vegetable matter, cardboard and paper that would otherwise go to a landfill, directly into nutrient rich compost and compost tea for recirculation of nutrients. |
